From Sixt, cross the river and proceed towards the village of Salvagny.
From this village, there are two possible itineraries.

Itinerary 1 - The Fountain route (1000m):
As you leave the village of Salvagny follow the road as it turns left and proceed up the mountain to the end of the road.

This route may be used by 4 wheel drive recreational vehicles cars and mountain bikes

Itinerary 2 - "Fardeleys" route (1040m):
As you leave the village of Salvagny, follow directions to the "Cascade du Rouget". After the waterfall, continue until you reach the first hamlet "Les Fardeleys" where there is a parking space on the left. From this parking area, follow the signs leading to the path down a torrent which you cross by bridge at the "Creux du Oua". You then walk uphill along a path which joins the main trail further up.

This route is not suitable for 4wheel drive recreational vehicles but mountain bikes may be used.

To reach Sixt Fer à Cheval

By Motorway: A40 to Cluses
By road: Cluses, then Chatillon, Morillon, Samoens, Sixt
Airports: Geneva (Cointrin) and Annecy
By train: SNCF to Cluses then bus to Sixt
